Don’t shame the girls who sent pictures of themselves half-naked to their significant others as a way to express eroticism which is healthy and natural… give the people hell who think it’s okay to destroy someone’s trust and distribute those images simply for entertainment purposes.
Say it again. I don’t think they got it the first time. Too much truth.
In Kansas, they are voting to decide if we count as people enough to have all of our basic rights respected. There is a bill out, you can read it here, that is so disturbing as to be vomit inducing.
It is saying, literally, if you claim ANY kind of religious beliefs, you can fire someone for being LGBT. You can retract their loans.
Kick them out of school.
Kick them out of their homes. Including foster care.
It’s saying that not only do you not have any legal recourse, but if you try to bring them to court you have to pay for their legal fees and the court’s fees. It says that despite the massive discrimination against LGBT people, they don’t deserve legal protections because someone’s religious views are more important then people’s lives.
It’s incredibly vague, too. It says for sexual identity or for gender presentation which could mean someone who’s just a masculine woman would receive the same treatment for daring to be a tomboy or for Metrosexuals and effeminate men.
This is simply disgusting.
There is a petition here to have this overturned. Please sign it. This needs to stop.
Self Signal Boost.
Look this is dangerous. This is a law that makes not homophobia legal. And since it says that representatives of the government can discriminate, the cops can. EMS. Fire Department.
Something I should check out? To see how bad it is?
Katie, it is so bad, I kid you not.
In the last 20 minutes that I hadn’t seen before I posted that, it got even worse. Her mom screams at her to skip eating dinner, so that she will lose weight so that the rich boys at her school will find her attractive enough to date her - she rips the food away from her.
And then the next day, when she goes swimming in the school pool, it’s covered in trash that the main guy threw in there to “annoy” her. Later that day, when she goes to the locker room to get changed, 3 boys sneak in there, and grab her, and drag her out on the floor, ignoring her screams. It ends there.
I have no idea what happens in the next episode, but the preview is a picture of her with a bloody nose, so whatever those boys do to her, I’m assuming it’s actually violent.
What the FUCK kind of show is this? How is this cute or romantic? Why is something so horrible so popular and adored?
It’s “romantic” because one of the bullies likes that she stands up to them, as opposed to the others they bullied who either quit that school or attempted suicide. He decides to change because of her. Which is “romantic.” It doesn’t matter that he feels no remorse for his past actions. He’s a good guy, now! And technically, the guy that is nice to her isn’t the actual bully, he just hangs around with the bad guy, is best friends with him, and stands there while that guy ruins people’s lives. So, he’s “innocent.”
I’m like sick to my stomach.
The show is troublesome in quite a few areas and Jun Pyo never stops being a horrible creep, but I started rooting for Ji Hoo after a while because… well, you’d start to see if you give the next episode a shot. He’s not the brightest and does some dumb things, but he isn’t the huge douchy creeper that Jun Pyo is. He isn’t shown as being really completely innocent, but like Jun Pyo, he’s had a sheltered and spoiled life. Saying anything to Jun Pyo could have also seriously ruined his family on the whim of Jun Pyo.
The point isn’t that Jun Pyo’s a good guy, or cute at ALL, it’s that he’s a child who never grew up and is starting to learn how to grow up because he finally has a person in his life that is a good influence whom he actually respects. We see him shift from being cruel and petty, even to the waitstaff in his house to learning how to forgive them their imperfections and start to be kind to them. Right now you should be sick to your stomach over the characters. The only one that shouldn’t make you sick is the amazingly strong Jan Di. No matter what happens she knows how to stay true to herself and be the mature one, even when surrounded by petty children.
Also, I am fairly certain her entire family are supposed to be satirical. They are always shown in this kind of extreme light where they keep pushing their daughter further than she wants, but it constantly is Jan Di that is right in how far they should be going with one thing or another. They are shown as the typical extremes to which the family might go in Korea over a situation like this, but it’s always Jan Di’s level head that is the right thing to do.
